Associates must either elect or decline coverage within 30 calendar days of their hire date listed in UltiPro. If no action is taken by associate within their election window, the next opportunity to enroll will be the next Open Enrollment or qualified life event. Group A Exempt Salaried Associates and Nurses
Coverage is effective the first day of the month after employment start date. Long-Term Disability is effective first of the month following one year of service.
Group B Non-exempt Hourly-Paid Associates (except nurses)
Coverage is effective the first day of the month after 60 days of service, following a 30-day orientation period. Long-Term Disability is effective first of the month following one year of service.
Rehires within 30 days
If an associate is rehired within 30 days and had benefits their same elections will be reinstated as of their hire date and premiums will continue. If deductions are missed they will be caught up. Make sure to notify the associates so they are aware.
Status Change to Full-time
Associates who have been employed over 90 days will have benefits effective the first of the month following the status change and have 30 days from event date to enroll or decline. Long-Term Disability is effective first of the month following one year of service.
